We visited Om Sabor to celebrate a friend's birthday and decided to try a few items from the menu. While the food was pretty delicious, the portions were quite small. For instance, the $27 lasagna was about the size of a palm--super petite! The ambiance, however, was really nice, with a cozy sit-down bar that seemed to focus more on offering bites rather than full entrée-sized dishes. If you're looking for a place with great vibes and tasty, albeit small, portions, Om Sabor is worth a visit. Just keep in mind that the portions might leave you wanting more!

Om Sabor is making some of, if not THE, best food within city limits right now. I've been a fan since their early popup days, been graced with their catering through many public and private events, and continue to be astounded by how they meld approachable, comforting American, Mexican, and global inspiration with fine dining finishes. The menu changes regularly but I'm utterly enamored with the current lasagna bolognese, a towering strata of noodles, plant-based meat sauce, and ricotta. It's simple yet spectacular, generously sized and fairly priced. That, plus the crispy fried oyster mushrooms, fashioned after calamari, is a meal I'll never forget.

Incredibly talented chef. I was so impressed I wanted to try everything on the menu food is unique vegan/ vegetarian cuisine. Service and ambience are decent. It's a pop up-- so seating is limited and it's self seating. Didn't try the cocktails but I will come back for that

My friend and I are big foodies, and with her being vegan it's always a delight to explore vegan speciality restaurants. I heard about Om Sabor from a work acquaintance and my friend recommended we go which ended up an ideal spot for us to grab dinner and catch up! Acting more of a partnership, the restaurant and bar are quite loud and it was hard to hear at times. Seating is all first come first serve with several tables, bar seating, and a back area--they truly utilize as much space as they can. The ambiance is casual with bursts of high energy, definitely a spot for friends or dates. We found service to be lacking at times as we weren't checked in, were confused about who to ask for our requests, and our food came out late. I'm dairy-free and don't eat red meat, so I chose to indulge in what I don't have. I enjoyed the Carne Asada Tacos which my friend had too! The tacos were well flavored, the texture mimicked meat, and it had a nice kick. She had the Truffle Mac n Cheese and we ordered Parmesan Fries. The fries were amazing, I haven't had parmesan in ages so it was nice to have a mimic. They offer a happy hour and a regular dinner menu. The restaurant collaborates with Phonobar and is off Grove with street and garage parking. I'm glad I could cross off this recommended spot and enjoy vegan cuisine with my friend! I wouldn't mind coming back for happy hour.

I liked this place. Food: I have always liked new vegan fusion dishes in the city. This place is no exception (even through the vegan tax is real) we enjoyed all the dishes here. My favorite is the boneless chicken wings. It has the Latin spicy and tenderness. My least favorite is the desert. The vanilla ice cream scoop is small, and the cake is not smooth, but rather crumbly. The place is cute. It is first come first serve style, which is lovely. But when people can only get a small spot, the table is way tooooo low for eating. Maybe to check in with customers before getting them seated. Like I ordered clam chowder. The pot was hot and heavy. I had a hard time eating it. Also, I would say that this place is way toooo loud. I could barely hear what my friends said. I will come back to bring Jack here, and see if he likes it.

I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS A VEGAN SPOT AND IM SHOOKETH. Hear me out! I was invited for my friend's birthday. And unlike me, I didn't pre-stalk their Yelp page or website. I just walked in blind. And as a self proclaimed hardcore carnivore, when I tell you that I had NO IDEA I WAS NOT EATING MAMMAL or DAIRY from a cow, I WAS SHOOKETH CUZ I HAD NO IDEA!!!!!! I came for happy hour. We were unable to make a reservation for our large group so I was nervous we wouldn't find seating, but there's more seating in the back. I arrived first and was also nervous about trying to hold a table for 7 people alone, but as soon as I sat down, the manager came to me and helped me set up enough chairs and tables for my friends. To drink, I initially started with an old fashioned since their happy hour cocktails are only classic drinks, but then I switched to another drink similar to it that I really liked (i liked it more, forgot the name because my friends ordered it first and I just said I want the same as her). To eat, I had the carne asada tacos. Did I realize it was not beef? no, I did not. The thought of the "meat" pieces looking different did cross my mind fleetingly but it truly didn't register till well after we left and I was told it was a vegan spot. Same for the truffle Mac & cheese. It was phenomenal and I did actively think about the fact that it seemed a bit watery but I brushed it off because Omg it was so good and still creamy. Also, I didn't order the Mac & cheese; they definitely brought it out by accident, but I surely was not going to say no to it since it looked and smelled so good, so I kept it and paid for it. Finally I had the fries and those were tasty as well. This is the second time in my life that I have eaten a vegan meal without knowing it is vegan. Yes there are some differences but what I'm realizing is that if the food tastes good, it's most definitely harder to tell. Also doesn't help that the names are the carnivore names. I mean they still call it "carne asada", how could I have known? All to say, Om Sabor, well done. You fooled a hardcore carnivore out of eating meat lol and I'm not mad at it because it was phenomenal!

We went the restaurant a few weeks after its opening - on my birthday and I absolutely loveed it Loved the service and especially loved the ambience a lot. (avoid sitting in the dark room, it's not that fun) Ordered the - Hibiscus Tacos - 3/5 (friends loved it I didn't) - Spicy Margarita - Can't recall the name but it was amazing - Chicken Paella - 4.5/5 It was really unexpectedly tasty given its appearance. It had less chicken though :/ - Sweet potato fritters? 4.5/5 Not sure but there were 3 flat sweet potato things which I loved! The only issue is that it's a bit pricy for the portion size. But it's a great date place and a great vegan restaurant

A great place to meet up and enjoy happy hour before going to a show. This evening we went to the SF symphony and this place is conveniently located across the street from the symphony hall. This place can get very crowded as it's pretty small, with bar space and small tables along the window front. Happy hour menu consists of small bites for $8-$9 and includes olives, fires, cerviche tostadas, Mac n cheese croquette, carne asada tacos. Classic cocktails $12, beers $6 and wines $8. We sat at the bar and it was lined with cocktail garnishes along the counter which was nice in photos. Service was quick and food was good. Overall, a great place to go to before a show in the civic area.

Some of the best vegan food in the Bay Area imho! The bar they're located in also has great drinks and the server was friendly and attentive. It's a nice cozy bar but definitely on the darker/dimmer side in terms of lighting. Most importantly, food wise, you will love whatever you get. But definitely get the clam chowder. SO GOOD. My non-veggie partner loved it as well. Their portions are smaller and snacky so bring some friends and try everything!
